Our Story

Founded by Archie Goldsmith in 1930, and soon joined by his brother Louis, the firm rapidly grew into a regional mercantile wholesaler. In due course they were joined by their sons, Alan and Tom. The company served retailers and commercial accounts in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. As part of the product mix we carried domestics (linen), and observed that our motel and lodge customers were buying our towels, sheets and bedding. We further expanded the textile offering to include the institutional, student housing and senior living markets. In the early 1970’s we expanded into contract furnishings, catering to the hospitality, contract and senior living trade. While our historic focus has been on the Pacific Northwest and Alaska, today we have customers around the USA and ship the majority of our products from convenient regional warehouses. The firm is still a family concern operated by Peter and Michelle Goldsmith based in Lake Oswego, OR, just south of Portland and ably assisted by Jon Nagasawa based in our Renton, WA office, south of Seattle. We have always maintained a focus on quality and service. In our 87th year, it’s our diversity and commitment to our customers that allow us to thrive and offer value.
